KALIA KIDS SEPTEMBER UPDATE

Dear Parents,

Welcome to another school year of fun and exciting learning experiences. All of our teachers have spent the last several weeks developing a curriculum that will fill the needs of each child attending Kalia Schools. Our goal is to challenge our students, without overwhelming them and to give them the individual one-on-one attention each child needs and deserves. We also have a desire to bond with you to build a close parent/teacher relationship that will inadvertently benefit your child. Open communication is an important part of our program and we urge you to speak to us about any concerns or questions you may have.

It is required by the Department of Early Education and Care that all children have a seasonal change of clothes at school at all times, which includes shirts, pants, underwear and sox. Also, your child will need a crib size sheet for his/her mat, a small blanket and, if they desire, a small, soft sleepy buddy. All of these items must be marked with your child’s name or initials. To avoid breakage and loss, we respectfully request that all other toys remain at home. Since there will still be more sunny days ahead, please make sure that your child has sunscreen and insect repellent at the school and has a closed water bottle to use on the playground.

The schools will be closed on Monday, September 1st for Labor Day.

Scholastic Books are a wonderful and economical way to increase your child’s library. The schools also benefit, because we are awarded points we can use towards books and other items for the schools. At Kalia Care, Miss Patricia handles this enterprise, while Miss Lisa is in charge at Kalia Kids.

Eat a lot of Campbell’s soup, drink V8 or use Prego sauce? Why not bring the labels to Miss Melisa at Kalia Kids, where they can be redeemed for many neat things for the schools?

Thanks to all of our families who donated toys to the schools over the summer. If you are doing your fall cleaning and don’t know what to do with toys, puzzles, books, games and clothing your child has outgrown, please consider the schools for these items.

Check out our websites at www.kaliacare.net or www.kaliakids.com. All of our Updates, calendars and upcoming events will be posted on these sites monthly.

One of our themes for the month of October is Community Helpers Week. If you or someone you know has a professional they would like to share with the children, please speak to Miss Phyllis.

Sincerely,

The Kalia Care & Kalia Kids Staff
