KALIA KIDS
JANUARY UPDATE
Dear Parents,
Welcome to
2012. We hope you all had a very happy holiday season and you certainly
made our holiday brighter with your gifts, cards and best wishes. Your
generosity is greatly appreciated.
Please read
the following important information:
·
Although Kalia
Schools does its utmost to be open through all kinds of weather, if it
is determined that it would be detrimental for the children, their
parents and for our staff members to be traveling on an inclement
weather day, the possibility still does exist that the schools may be
closed for the day or have an early dismissal. If the schools were to
close, a message will be left on the schools’ answering machines by 6:00
A.M. In the event of an early closing, parents will be called and asked
to pick up their children within a reasonable span of time.
·
Kalia Schools
will be open on Martin Luther King Day, Monday the 16th.
·
Congratulations to
Miss Crystal who is expecting her second child in July. Her intention is
to take the summer off and to return in the fall. Miss Chelsea has made
herself available to fill in for Miss Crystal while she’s on maternity
leave.
·
Since Miss Felicia
F. will be on medical leaves to have her tonsils removed, Miss Patricia
will join us to keep the Preschool 2 Room running in tip-top shape
during the weeks of the 9th and the 16th.
·
On Tuesday the 17th,
the New York Life Insurance Company will be visiting the school to
conduct a Free Child ID Event. With parental consent, the program
includes digital fingerprinting and photographing and a free CD with a
summary of the ID and two ID cards that can be cut out. If your child
normally does not attend school on Tuesday and you would like to take
part in this program, please check with child’s teacher to determine the
best time to bring your child in.
·
In order to keep
the children safe, Kalia Schools have installed numbered key locks that
must be used only by parents or guardians. Children should be strongly
discouraged from touching the door locks and from entering the building
unattended. Parents should also keep in mind that the side door is an
“EXIT ONLY” door. Everyone should gain entrance to the building through
the center entrance door only. This will insure that there is no breach
of our security.
·
To avoid late
charges, all tuition must be paid no later than Wednesday at 5:30 P.M.
(Tuesday when there is a Wednesday holiday.)
·
Please drive slowly
down the hill and through the parking lot, especially on inclement
weather days. No matter what the weather, if you feel more comfortable,
you are welcome to use the upper parking lot and entrance and then just
walk to the end of the hall and take the staircase downstairs to the
bottom level.
At this time
of the year, many of us make resolutions. Although we have the best of
intentions, for some reason they just don’t always pan out. So our staff
would like to salute you, our fantastic parents, who have resolved
throughout the years to give your children the love and nurturing they
so justly deserve. Being a parent is not an easy job and at times it can
be stressful and hectic, but don’t let it get you down. When you feel
that little hand in yours and see your child’s smiling face looking up
at you, you’ll know that you have the most precious gift of
all…………….YOUR CHILD!
Sincerely,
The Kalia Care Staff
